RenewList helps you track subscriptions locally, get renewal and trial reminders, and follow step-by-step cancel guides. It does not connect to your bank and does not cancel subscriptions for you.

Frequently asked questions

Does RenewList connect to my bank?
No. You enter subscription details yourself. RenewList never links to banks or payment accounts.

Will RenewList cancel subscriptions for me?
No. Cancel guides show steps on each provider’s site or app. Marking a subscription as canceled only updates your local tracker.

Are my photos uploaded?
No. If you pick a screenshot from your photo library, text recognition runs on your device. Original images are not saved or uploaded.

Does voice input send audio to RenewList?
No. Voice input uses Apple’s speech recognition. RenewList prefers on-device recognition when available and does not store raw audio.

Why am I not getting reminders?
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → RenewList and ensure notifications are allowed. In RenewList, open Settings and confirm notifications are enabled. Also verify each subscription has reminders turned on and that Do Not Focus is not blocking alerts.

Photo recognition missed fields or got something wrong
OCR works best with clear billing screenshots. You can edit any field before saving. Try a crop with the service name, price, and renewal date visible.

Why do totals show “--” or look wrong?
Home-screen totals in your default currency need exchange rates when subscriptions use other currencies. RenewList fetches public rates from Frankfurter when needed and caches them on your device. Without network and without a valid cache, totals may show as unavailable. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I change currency or language?
Open Settings → General → Default currency or Language.

Backup and migration

Open RenewList → Settings → Data.
Tap Export JSON and save the file to Files, iCloud Drive, or another safe location.
On a new device, install RenewList → Settings → Data → Import data, choose the JSON file, then pick Replace all or Merge.

You can also export or import CSV for spreadsheets. RenewList-native CSV round-trips directly; other CSV files can be mapped to required columns (service name, amount, next billing date). CSV does not include reminder rules—imported rows use your global reminder settings.

Delete all data

To remove all RenewList data from a device, use Settings → Data → Delete all subscriptions, delete individual subscriptions in the app, or uninstall RenewList. Uninstalling removes locally stored data. We do not keep a copy on our servers.

Export a JSON backup first if you may need the data later.

Report a cancel guide issue

Provider steps change over time. If a guide link is wrong or steps are outdated, email us with the service name and what you expected: renewlist.support@gmail.com (subject: Cancel guide correction).

Most features work offline. Internet is needed when you open external cancel-guide links, and may be needed when totals use currencies different from your default (public exchange rates — see Privacy Policy)
